Welcome to the 2012-13 School Year!
It's a common saying, but time has really flown by as I will be starting my 4th year at Iowa Valley as the 7-12 principal and am once again looking forward to engaging, stimulating, interacting, learning enviroment in leading our faculty, staff and students at Iowa Valley! Our staff really works hard at providing meaningful and engaging opportunities of learning to the students at Iowa Valley. By challenging students thinking, stimulating that problem solving mentality and giving them experiences we hope they can take with them to the next 'stage' of their lives! We are very excited about year two of using SMART technology, with interactive SMART Boards, SMART slates and SMART clickers with the use of notebook software made available through Microsoft allocations. We also encourage all parents, community and business members to stop by the office and ask about a tour of our facilities and see what's going on inside our classrooms.
My family is very important to me and we are avid sports and outdoor activities family. My wife Trisha of 25+ years are proud parents of three children! with twin boys in Craig and Drew and our daughter Cara. We are proud that all three have graduated from college and are now gainfully employed in their chosen career fields. Another exciting note is our grandson Boston, son of Cara's turned 1 yr old over the summer and we were able to continue with the 'spoiling' process!
As far as my background, I'm a graduate of Chadron State College, in western Nebraska, a very avid Husker football fan, and a Hawkeye wrestling supporter. I've been in education for the past 25 years and 21 of those as an Industrial Arts teacher.
I feel it's my duty and privelege to help our students and staff reach their full potential, and come into each day prepared to make them feel safe and ready to learn. GO TIGERS!
