Counseling Program Hello! My name is Aaron Marshall. I'm the Guidance Counselor for K-12th grade. This is my second year in the Iowa Valley district. I graduated from Ashford University with a BA in Social Justice and a Master's at the University of Iowa in School Counseling. Currently, I live in Cedar Rapids with my wife, daughter and two dogs. In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching sports and spending time with my family.
My philosophy of counseling within a school is one that involves expectations and interests. I, as a school counselor, have to discover what makes up each individual student's interests. These student interests may be so different according to the individual that the structure, rules, and values of what make up those students will vary as well. A student must choose their own path, as a counselor I'll merely give students the tools and resources to better help them down their chosen path.
