Greetings Iowa Valley Students, Parents, and Community Members,
My name is Cindy Miller and I serve as PreK-6 principal. I graduated from Central College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned a Master's degree in K-12 Reading from Marycrest University and received my administrative certification from the University of Northern Iowa.
During my time at Iowa Valley, I've appreciated the support of parents and the community. Educating children is a team effort and it's rewarding to work in a community where so many people are willing to help.
I have felt fortunate to have a supportive and hard-working staff at the elementary. They provide a positive, caring environment for our students. Our staff has been the key to the success of many of our programs. The elementary staff works hard to meet the needs of each and every student.
Our school wide Tiger Pride program continues to support positive school expectations for our students. Give a Paw, reminds us all to promote positive interactions for our school community.
My goal is to have students experience working with technology to become lifelong learners. With the help of the school board, grants and PTO we contiue to add new technology to our building.
We are excited to introduce and share our new reading series, Journeys, through Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. This series runs K-6 with differentiated resources. The series has lessons for our Smartboards and will also be online.
