Hi, I'm Brant Andreassen and I am a kindergarten teacher here at Iowa Valley. I started at IV in 1999 after teaching in San Antonio, Texas for five years.
I attended the University of Northern Iowa where I recieved degrees in elementary education and early childhood education. I also have my social studies endorsement.
My wife Amy and I live in North English with our three children -Grace America (8 years), Cooper (5 years), and Whit (born August 4, 2006). Amy is the elementary principal and curriculum director at English Valleys so our loyalty is split when the Tigers and the Bears meet in sporting events. Ha ha.
I just recently obtained my master's degree in curriculum and instruction and look forward to applying what I've learned from that program into my own classroom.
In my free time I work at Safari Iowa as a hunting guide. I own two German Shorthair Pointers and one Yellow Lab which I use in the field to hunt pheasants and other birds. I also enjoy golfing, fantasy baseball/football, and spending time with my family. For the past three years I have served as a volunteer firefighter in North English.
